a) Real Power (P)
It is the power which is actually dissipated in the circuit resistance. Also called Active Power.

Measured in Units of Watts
b) Reactive Power (Q)
It is the power developed in the inductive reactance of the circuit.
Measured in Units of Volt-amperes-reactive (VAR)
c) Apparent Power (S)
It is given by the product of r.m.s. values of applied voltage and circuit current.
Measured in Units of Volt-Amperes (VA)
