What is the principle of operation of a Transformer?

A simple transformer consists of two windings placed on an iron core. When alternating voltage is applied to one winding (called the primary), it sets up to alternating flux in the core. The alternating flux links the other winding (called the secondary) and induces in it.
When the load is connected to the secondary, current flows through the load, thus delivering power to the load. In this way power is transformed from primary to secondary through the agency of magnetic flux.

  1. This set of circumstances is referred to as the trigger. If His plan seems long in coming it could mean that we are not quite ready to fulfill it. However in 2001, nine years after Snoop's use of it, the women of DC changed its meaning from 'weak' to something along the lines of 'voluptuous toosh' when they used it as a title for one of their many hits.
